Fiqh 101 (part 2)

2012 Spring semester

Having covered salah in the first part of the course, in this part, we hope to deal with the other three pillars of Islam, namely, zakah, siyaam and hajj. We begin the study with zakah addressing the following questions: What is the status of zakah in Islam? Who is eligible to pay it? How do we calculate it? When is it due? Who is eligible to receive it?

The course will continue, on the same lines, with siyaam and hajj, in order to delineate the essential fiqh relating to them.
